Monday, December 25, 2006 Merry Christmas! We are enjoying time with family, who are the true treasure in our lives. Let us all adopt the philosophy of spending time with instead of money on family and friends this year.

Sunday, October 8, 2006 Happy harvest moon day (which was on Friday two days ago)! Yes, it's been a while since we updated, but we only update our site on obscure holidays because that's when we have time. We've completed our move to Seattle area about a month ago. Life is much busier up here, but we're having more fun so far.

Friday, March 17, 2006 Happy St. Patrick's Day! Congratulations to Rick, who just got married! Nothing much is new here, except we're planning on moving up to Seattle. We'll keep you posted on how that goes.

July 9, 2005 We have decided to keep the kittens, so they are no longer up for adoption. It was a difficult decision, but hopefully the right one. So far, they are getting along well with our big cats, but they are extremely active and mischievous (and fun too).

June 1, 2005 We're fostering two kittens, who are looking for a loving home. They are about 10 weeks old, each weighing a couple pounds. They are small, energetic, and lots of fun. We'd prefer to give them to people we know, so if you know us, please contact us about the cute little kittens!

Jan 9, 2004 It's been crazy since we moved into our house, and things are finally beginning to calm down. Yes, we're late with our holiday greetings, and hope to send them out soon.

Nov 12, 2004 We have been moved into our new house for a couple weeks now, and are still unpacking. The cats love the extra space (and we do too). We welcome all family and friends to visit (given advanced notice).

Nov 12, 2004 A day late, but we'd like to honor our vetern friends serving in the military. Special thanks to Denis in the USAF, currently based in Britain; Jackie in the Marines, currently based in California (but may be deployed to Iraq in the future); Matt in the Army, currently based on Korea. If we missed anyone, please let us know.

Oct 14, 2004 We're closing the deal on the house in the next few days! We've posted some pictures from the front showing construction progress. Once we've moved in, we'll post additional pictures.

Oct 14, 2004 If you are a registered voter in the U.S., remember to vote on November 2! Be sure to take the time to become informed about issues and races in your area to make a wise decision.

July 4, 2003 We've moved our page back to UIUC's web server, as it turned out that our account there will last longer than our ISP's. Please still point links and bookmarks to http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/howsun/ instead of the current URL (if that URL hasn't updated yet, don't worry; it will soon).

February 16, 2003 We've moved our page to a new server hosted by our ISP. We will probably be moving between different web servers for the next few months, so make sure you bookmark our permanent forwarding address (http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/howsun/) rather than the current URL.

October 27, 2002 We introduce Mozart. We meant to do it earlier, but have been busy. Since we get an extra hour today, we figure it's a good time to do it.

September 1, 2002 A new school year started for us. We were greeted with our cable modem service going down, Howard's laptop battery dying, Newton not feeling well, and other minor issues. Otherwise things have been going smoothly.

July 8, 2002 Hope everyone had a good 4th of July weekend. We didn't do too much, and just relaxed. We also don't have current plans to visit Seattle for the summer.

March 31, 2002 Happy Easter! Remember Easter has nothing to do with bunnies and eggs. Don't get carried away with today's commercialism!

Nov 9, 2001 Our guestbook, hosted on Melissa's old UW account, is offline because her account has expired. We will look for another server to host our guestbook. In the mean time, please enjoy the rest of our site.

Nov 9, 2001 Howard has posted his favorite MacOS X and other related links. See links section below.

Sep 28, 2001 We know we haven't been updating our page much lately. To reward loyal readers who visit our site often, we will update our site more now that we have a digital camera, and a cat to take pictures of. Visit the page dedicated to Newton to see how cute he is!

8/24/01 We have moved into our new home in Illinois, and school started yesterday. We are in the process of getting back in contact with family and friends. Until we get a good Internet connection, this site won't be updated as often.

3/2/01 We're ok, really. Actually, Howard's in Illinois, so he isn't affected. But all our family and friends survived the earthquake, and there were some property damage, especially in Olympia, but otherwise everybody else came through okay.

2/14/01 Happy Valentine's Day to all. Don't get caught in the perverse commercialism, but remember St. Valentine's philosophy of dedicating your life to the one you love, and always honor, respect, and be loyal to each other.

1/15/01 Melissa started school again a week ago, and Howard finally returned to Champaign. Planning for June is progressing ahead, and we hope that all goes smoothly.

12/7/00 Howard's coming back to Seattle on Monday, December 18 and staying for four weeks! (see calendar) If you wish to get together over break, please let him know when's good for you.

10/9/00 We make a dedication in loving memory of Sue Rouse, mother of our close friends Michael and Ryan Rouse, who has touched the lives of so many people in her life and community. She was a strong Christian warrior who showered the world with love, and battled cancer with a peaceful and joyful heart. Her faith is a beacon of light to us all.

9/2000 Uhh.. Well, the fact that we're having a page together means something... But notice we don't have the same last name yet. Hmm.. I wonder what it means?
